Aquaflex - soil moisture sensors soil moisture probes
AQUAFLEX is a unique sensor that measures both soil moisture and soil temperature. The 3m long flexible tape can be laid in soil in a variety of configurations. Some examples are on an angle to give a depth profile, in a coil to go around the root ball of trees, in a loop to fit in a confined space etc.
The 3m length means that moisture is measured in a 6 litre volume of soil. This is extremely important given the variability of soil (even in well prepared plots) and non uniformity of water application etc.
The Aquaflex sensor is particularly suited to monitoring soil moisture in turf, pasture and shallow rooted applications and can also be used in conjunction with other sensors that are more suited for vertical profile measurements.
The Aquaflex sensor has multiple outputs.
Frequency for connection to pulse inputs(eg a flow meter in an irrigation controller). Only soil moisture can be accessed from this sensor output.
4 to 20mA two separate outputs, for soil moisture and soil temperature. For connection to irrigation controllers, data recorders and telemetry systems.
